Description

Callistephus chinensis 'Californian Giant' - aster

DESCRIPTION: Elegant flowering annual with large feathery double blooms like a vintage Melbourne Cup hat. A standout variety left to flower in the garden or enjoyed indoors in a vase!
PLANTING: Spring and Summer, for hotter parts of Australia winter planting is recommended. Sow seeds directly into garden beds or pots, cover with a thin layer of soil and keep moist. Plant in free draining soil in a full sun to partly shaded location protected from strong winds.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. Mulch plants to keep the shallow roots cool in summer. Remove spent flowers and apply liquid fertiliser regularly for prolific flowering and plant health.
