Stunning hot pink-red flowers with gently ruffled edges appear in almost any garden situation. Red Wing is hardy, "almost unkillable", low growing and tolerant of full sun.

Azalea indica 'Red Wing'

APPEARANCE : Low growing Azalea variety with hot pink-red ruffled flowers during autumn through to spring. Lace bug resistant.
USE FOR: In groups as a mass display of flowering colour; informal hedges, feature shrub. Suitable for pots.
CLIMATE : Will tolerate light frost once established.
PLANTING : Azaleas love dappled, morning and/or afternoon sun. Full sun is ok but not too exposed, hot and dry.
Plant in a moist free draining soil rich in organic matter.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Continue to water on a regular basis for the first twelve months to ensure the plant becomes fully established. Azaleas do not like drying out. Prune after spring flowering to promote dense growth habit and flowering next season, fertilise using a slow release fertiliser such as Osmocote which is specially formulated for azaleas
