DESCRIPTION: Commonly known as bush violet, 'Purple Gem' is a decorative foliage plant with white and purple leaves, and small purple flowers appearing during the warmer months of the year.
USE IN: Accent planting within tropical settings or to brighten a dark corner of the garden.
LOCATION: Plant in full sun/part shade position in the garden. Tolerates drought but thrives in well watered conditions and tropical climates. Frost free locations.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established; protect from frost. Light tip pruning when the plant is young will help promote a dense growth habit.
