Australian native fern

Its common name arises from its unique arrangement of fronds in a circular pattern perpendicular to the stem. There really is nothing else quite like it.

Umbrella fern has to be one of my favourite plants and it’s very close to my heart…

I have spent more than 5 years researching successful propagation methods for umbrella fern and it is with great pleasure that I share with you my victory in taming this beautiful native for everyone to enjoy.
Umbrella fern is now grown in small plantations in south east Queensland under shade to supply premium cut foliage to the floriculture industry – so next time you’re at the florist look out for it (or request it!) in bouquet arrangements. A miniature bonsai-style umbrella fern whole-plant has recently become available from high-end florists and nurseries.
