This rich dark fast-growing shrub is loaded with intense deep purple scented flower spikes summer to autumn. Grows to an easy-to-manage 3 metres and can be hard-pruned. Butterflies can't resist them, birds and bees will pay a visit to feed on the nectar too!

Buddlejia davidii 'Black Knight'

APPEARANCE : Fast establishing woody perennial flowering from summer through to autumn with spear-shaped clusters of deep purple scented flowers. Attracts bird life, butterflies and bees to your garden.
USE FOR : Cottage gardens, wildlife gardens, for colour and scent, in mixed beds.
CLIMATE : Frost hardy, drought tolerant
PLANTING : Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden, mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE : Prune hard after flowering in frost-free areas or in spring in cold ones to maintain compact growth and heavier flowering. Fertilise in spring using a slow release fertiliser, give an extra boost during the summer heat using eco-seaweed. Tolerates frost.
HEIGHT & WIDTH :  1 - 3 m H x 1 - 1.5 m W.
