Camellia japonica
DESCRIPTION: Big soft-pink double flowers and glossy evergreen foliage. Japonica Camellias have larger leaves than their warm-climate cousins the sasanquas. They make an impressive display grouped together and are beautiful as specimen shrubs planted on their own. Evergreen shrubs to approx 2- 3 m unclipped, with beautiful displays of flowers in winter and spring.
USES: Ideal for hedges, feature shrubs, and large containers.
PLANTING: Sunny or partly shaded position with afternoon sun. Shelter from strong winds, hot morning sun, and exposed sites.  Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter.  A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal added at the time of planting.
CARE: Mulch and water well, prune after flowering and fertilise in Spring.  Plant in a soil which is neutral to acidic.  If you have lime soil plant camellias in a container.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 2-3 m H x 2 m W.
PLEASE NOTE: These plants are tube-stock plants, with the benefit of being a young plant they will establish quickly in your garden. The average size of your plants will be 15 - 25 cm in height with a pot size of 42 mm wide and 80 mm high.
