Carnation 'King of Blacks'
Dianthus carophyllus
DESCRIPTION: Deep purple double flowers spring through summer above grey-green foliage.
USES: Plant as a border, fill a garden bed or pop into a container and enjoy on the patio. Try contrast planting with our Grenadin White carnation. Cut flowers are a lovely feature in flower arrangements too!
LOCATION: Plant in free draining compost rich soil in a sunny spot for best flowering season. Frost tolerant once established.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly during the first 4-6 weeks or until the plant is established. Continue to provide periodic water especially during dry spells. Prune spent flowers at the base and trim plants yearly. Feed using a controlled release fertiliser twice yearly, and apply a seaweed based fertiliser like eco-seaweed bi-monthly.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 50cm H x 40 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tube-stock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The average size of your plants will be 15 -25 cm including the pot height of 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
