Coffea arabica - mountain coffee

DESCRIPTION: Original coffee plant from Ethiopia. Dark glossy foliage with lots of sweet, jasmine scented white flowers. Produces cherry-red fruit after flowering. Each fruit contains two seeds that are roasted and consumed as a hot beverage. Allow up to three years for your plant to begin producing fruit.
USES: Beautiful feature plant within a tropical garden. Suited to containers.
PLANTING: Plant in well drained soil in a partly shaded position in the garden protected from wind. Prefers warm climates. Avoid frost. Needs humidity to thrive.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune gently after fruiting to promote dense growth habit and flowering, fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in spring.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 2-5 m H x 1 - 2 m W depending on cultivation conditions.
