Crepe myrtle - Lagerstroemia archeriana

DESCRIPTION: Native summer flowering tree with delicate pink-lilac paper-like blooms and small oval shaped leaves. Deciduous in winter meaning the garden receives plenty of warm sunshine when it needs it most. Fast growing variety which makes a tree, or if pruned hard, a bushy shrub.
USES: Ideal for light screening, topiary, hedge planting and large containers. Crepe myrtles create a dazzling flowering display and beautiful shade in the garden summer-autumn
PLANTING: Plant in free draining soil in a frost-free, full sun location. Mulch after planting to retain moisture and regulate soil temperatures as the young plant establishes.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established, then during dry periods until the plant develops a trunk. Prune in autumn following leaf drop for prolific summer flowering and a denser growth habit; or deadhead after first flowers to keep an elegant shape and encourage a second flower flush. Fertilise using a slow release fertiliser twice yearly, thrive in clay soils.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 7-10m H x 3 m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tube-stock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The average size of your plants will be 15 -25 cm in height including the pot height of 80 mm x 42 mm wide.
