Hardy, low maintenance, with slender dark red-burgundy edged leaves. Dracaenas are tough little plants ideal for accents and edging; and experience very little leaf drop making them ideal for poolside planting and indoors in pots.
Dracaena marginata 'Black Knight'
DESCRIPTION: Attractive accent plant suited to containers and poolside planting. Also known as Red Edge Dracaena the foliage is rich-green in the centre with deep red-burgundy edges becoming darker as the plant matures.
USES: Feature planting, coastal gardens, tropical foliage gardens and potted indoor colour.
PLANTING: Plant in free draining soil in a full sun/partly shaded location, indoor plants may need to be rotated for optimum health. Mulch after planting to retain moisture and regulate soil temperatures as the young plant establishes.
CARE: Easy-care plant, simply remove old foliage, apply mulch and fertilise yearly with a slow release fertiliser or well composted manure. If plats become tall and leggy, simply trim to desired height, apply a slow release fertiliser and wait for your plant to reshoot. The removed stems may be planted directly in the garden or pots and will strike in next to no time. Protect from frost.
