Fragrant flowering shrub perfect for cottage gardens and sunny locations where the scent can be enjoyed. Attracts bees and butterflies. Ideal for  container planting.This one is faster growing and taller than other French lavenders, great for hedging, and dries very well too.

Lavandula dentata 'Royal Crown' - French lavender

APPEARANCE : Scented flowering shrub, woody at the base, with serrated grey-green foliage and light-purple flowers with long tufts during spring. Taller and fast growing.
USE FOR : Perfect for cottage gardens and hedging. Suited to rockeries and pots. Right at home in cool dry climates. Cut flowers may be dried and used in flower arrangements or potpourri.
PLANTING : Plant in full sun and free-draining soil. Will tolerate lower light levels but flowering will be affected.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly for the first 12 weeks until the plant establishes. Prune twice yearly (taking care to remove only 1/3 of the foliage while avoiding cutting into old wood) and fertilise yearly using a slow release fertiliser after flowering maintain compact growth. Avoid wet feet. Tolerates light frost once established.
