Great gardenia for warmer, humid locations or as an indoor plant. Nice compact size, flowers mainly from spring through summer and often later into the year with very scented neat white double blooms.

Beautifully shaped in bud like a teacup and saucer, opening out into a waterlily shape.

Description

Gardenia augusta, Gardenia jasminoides 'Ocean Pearl'

APPEARANCE : A glossy, compact, evergreen shrub; slender-leaved deep green foliage, and strongly fragrant flowers almost all year. The flowers open from a neat carefully furled bud into a bright white flower. An old variety - veitchii - under a new name.
USE FOR : Perfect for hedges, feature planting, sensory gardens, and containers. Smaller size is ideal for indoor growing
CLIMATE : Frost free, sheltered. Appreciates humidity.
PLANTING : Prefers dappled shade or part shade or bright indirect light; grows in full sun. Plant in a free draining acid or neutral pH soil rich in organic matter. Water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE : Mulch and water well, prune after flowering if required. Feed with a fertiliser for acid-loving plants every 2-3 months. Water regularly with seaweed solution. Spray with Eco-Oil to kill aphids, scale, and other pests.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH : 1m H x 1m W.
