Unusual pink-splashed leaves make this such an eyecatching indoor or outdoor plant. Big glossy leaves love humidity and hate frost; ideal for subtropical underplanting in shade and beautiful home displays. This selection has leaves with strong pink markings.

We know that some plants sold by other retailers are not the genuine article - so we have grown all our plants on to a larger size, to assess each one individually for true leaf pinkness. We have separated them into a strongly pink selection - this one - and a chocolate with pink marbling selection which has smaller areas of colour.

Philodendron 'Pink Princess' - strong pink selection

APPEARANCE: Big leafy plant with glossy heart shaped leaves. The leaves are very dark green, splashed randomly with pale pink. Note: The pink colouration is random and variable, and develops as the plant grows and matures. This selection has leaves with strong pink markings; occasional leaves may appear green.
USE IN: Plant as a border in tropical style gardens and shaded underplanting. Perfect indoors in pots
PLANTING: Prefers a sheltered position, avoid direct sunlight. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Plant away from areas where children and pets play as the leaves contain a poisonous substance. Avoid contact with skin.
CARE: For a long flowering season provide plenty of bright, filtered light. Protect from cold and keep moist during dry periods. Philodendrons thrive in humid conditions, mist regularly. Apply a slow release fertiliser during spring and a liquid based fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during the warmer months, take care to dilute your solution to half the recommended dose to avoid burn. For indoor plants - wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth if you notice them collecting dust, this will refresh the foliage to its usual glossy finish. Re-pot container plants at the beginning of spring.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 3m H x 3m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80 mm x 42 mm wide. Your plants may be supplied as 'plugs', slightly smaller than our usual tubestock but with a healthy root system ready for planting or potting on.
