A neat dwarf palm, slow growing, cold hardy. Happy in a big pot, by a pool, indoors or out. Will thrive in heavy shade so useful for underplanting when young. Gives a tropical feel to almost any garden space.

Phoenix roebelenii - dwarf date palm

APPEARANCE : Small to medium sized slow-growing palm. Attractive dark green fine slender feathery leaves, and a spiny trunk. Often grows in clusters.
USE FOR : Popular palm due to its cold hardiness, attractiveness and small size.
CLIMATE : Protect from frost and cold winds. Can cope with temperatures down to zero once established.
PLANTING : Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter.  Small enough to be happy indoors or in large pots. Mulch and water well, and fertilise in Spring.
CARE : Remove old fronds as they die. Pest resistant.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH: 2-3m H x 2m W.
