Pleiogynium timoriense - Burdekin plum
DESCRIPTION: Australian native tropical rainforest tree growing to 12 metres in garden settings, and up to 20 metres in its natural habitat. Produces plum coloured edible fruit which can be eaten raw when ripe or used to make jam, wine and chutney.
USE IN: Plant as a shade creating feature or screen. Attracts native wildlife!
PLANTING: Plant in a full sun position for longest flowering and fruiting. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Tolerates dry conditions and light frost once established.
CARE: Prune after fruit has finished to encourage dense growth habit and a bumper crop of berries next season. Apply a native slow release fertiliser during spring.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 12-20 m H x 3-7 m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tube-stock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The average size of your plants will be 15 -25 cm in height including the pot height of 80 mm x 42 mm wide.
