Portulaca Double mix- seed
Portulaca grandiflora Sunnybank - seed
DESCRIPTION: Colourful low growing groundcover with succulent leaves, suited to rockeries pots and borders. Flowers are small, bright, double in a range of colours; paper-like, opening in the morning and closing late afternoon.
PLANTING: Plant spring-summer in southern states and autumn-winter in northern states of Australia. Check the seed pack for detailed info on planting in your area. Sow seeds into seed raising mixture or direct into their final position, cover with a light layer of soil and keep moist. Thin seedlings if they become crowded & replant elsewhere. Plant in free draining soil in a full sun location for best flowering.
CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established, follow with a good deep water weekly and allow plants to dry out between watering. Portulacas prefers free draining soil. For an extra long flowering season and healthy foliage remove spent blooms and feed with liquid fertiliser bi-monthly.
