Strelitzia reginae - bird of paradise

APPEARANCE : Tropical flower on long thick stems, shaped like a bird's beak and crest, orange and purple, on established plants. Large oar-shaped foliage in upright clumps.
USE FOR :As a feature in tropical-style garden settings, poolside, mixed borders, large containers. Ideal for large floral arrangements
CLIMATE : Frost free, ideally over 10C
PLANTING : Plant in full sun to part shade in most garden soils.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Remove spent flowers and old foliage as required.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH : 1.2m H x 1.2m W.
