Good tough fast grower to 3m, compact (unsurprisingly!), tightly-growing with a reddish bronze tinge when young. Excellent for topiary - clip to shape to encourage leaf colour.

Like all lilly pillys, Aussie Compact is great for hedging and edging, and happy in a pot. Hot pink berries are a bonus for you and wildlife.

Syzygium australe 'Aussie Compact' - lilly pilly

APPEARANCE : NAtive evergreen. Compact and tightly growing foliage that emerges with a reddish bronze tinge. White fluffy flowers and hot pink berries
ORIGIN : Native to the east coast of QLD and NSW
USE FOR : Excellent for hedging, topiary, screening.
CLIMATE : Ideal in full sun, tough and will tolerate light frosts.
PLANTING : Tolerates most positions and conditions but would benefit with mulching and fertilising at the time of planting in well drained soil. 
CARE : Mulch and keep watered until established, usually around 12 weeks, then water only as required. Treat with eco-oil to keep chewing pests at bay.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH : 3-5M x 3M but normally clipped to preferred height.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
