Thysanolaena maxima - tiger grass

APPEARANCE:  Fast-growing alternative to bamboo, producing long slender canes and large leaves. Does not produce side shoots or invasive runners like true bamboo.
USE IN: Balinese and Asian-style gardens. Feature planting or mass planted for screening and a wall of vibrant green foliage. Suitable for large containers.
LOCATION: This shrub prefers full sun but will tolerate a small amount of shade. Plant in free draining soil rich in organic matter. Leaves may become yellow in cooler climates during winter and become green again in spring.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Mulch and water well, provide plenty of water while the plant becomes established and during dry periods. Frost sensitive.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 3m H x 2m W.
