Tomato Tigerella organic
Lycopersicon esculentum

DESCRIPTION: Tall growing heirloom variety, bearing small fruit with splashes of yellow.
PLANTING: Spring-Summer and Winter in warmer locations. Sow seeds directly into their final position or seed trays. Transplant when seedlings are easily handled. A full sun location in free draining soil is ideal. For smaller gardens grow bags are perfect, place on a sunny balcony to enjoy a bumper crop.
USE IN: Home grown tomatoes are super sweet and ideally eaten fresh in salads or stirred through warm pasta with a few torn basil leaves for a quick dinner.
CARE: Water seedlings daily until established and follow up with regular water especially during dry periods. Pinch out lower water shoots to keep the main stem more productive. Use stakes to support plants and fruit as they mature. Mulch plants to retain moisture in the soil. Apply liquid fertiliser regularly for best results and protect plants from frost. If insects are a ever problem use an organic insecticide like eco-oil, it's safe to use on veggies! For the more adventurous home gardeners try companion planting with marigolds or chives, the natural oils help to deter unwanted visitors.
