Abelia grandiflora
Commonly known as glossy abelia, this easy-going shrub brings a soft touch to your garden all year round.
Its glossy green leaves gradually shift to rich bronze and red tones in cooler months, providing year-round interest, while delicate, fragrant white to pale pink trumpet-shaped flowers appear from spring through to autumn, attracting bees and butterflies.

APPEARANCE : A compact shrub with glossy green leaves that turn bronze-red in cooler months, bearing delicate, fragrant pale flowers through spring and autumn.
USE FOR : Suited for a sunny spot as informal hedges or borders, adding year-round colour and soft fragrance with minimal fuss. Attracts butterflies.
PLANTING : Plant in well drained soil in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden. Tolerates dry periods once established. Frost tolerant.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Flowers will only form on new wood so prune after flowering to promote dense growth habit and flowering, fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in spring.
