Very architectural feature plant for containers, desert gardens, waterwise planting. Loves full sun, will grow in full shade; cold tolerant to around -5C. Flowers after around ten years with a huge 4m spike of yellow blooms, usually dying afterwards. What a way to go out.

Agave geminiflora- twin flower agave

DESCRIPTION: Low maintenance striking ornamental plant with a globe of long slender pointed leaves tapering to a sharp point. Some plants develop white threads along the sides of each leaf.
USE IN: Accent and specimen planting, landscaping and poolside, also suited to containers.
PLANTING: Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden in well drained soil. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Hardy plant, tolerates heat, light frost and dry conditions once established. Prefers dry conditions during winter.
CARE: Remove old foliage for a tidy appearance and fertilise yearly using a slow release fertiliser.
