Do you like a challenge? We've got a beautiful one for you! Alocasias are notoriously diva-esque in their demands, and Nebula is said to be the MOST demanding of all.

This silvery Sarawak stunner requires a slightly acid soil, perfect watering, no draughts, an eagle eye for pest attack, a gentle yet frequent feeding regime, warm temperatures, and bright yet humid air. Easy, right?

We've seen this retailing at over $100 on other sites, so Nebula is definitely worth all the attention you can give it!

Alocasia nebula - jewel alocasia, imperial jewel

APPEARANCE: Tropical rainforest foliage plant from Borneo, with silvery-blue leaves that darken to steel grey towards the centre and along the veins. Leaves are rich copper-tan beneath
USE FOR Indoor feature plant - show it off in your best pot. Or plant into your tropical garden where it can grow to full potential.
PLANTING: Really good rich moist free-draining loam on the slightly acid side - add perlite to help with drainage. At least half a day of good light, but not direct sun which can scorch. It may occasionally drip harmless sap so place it on tile or other surface you can clean.
CARE: Ideally, recreate a tropical rainforest - humid and warm and not too sunny. Water little and often so the compost almost dries out between waterings, but not completely. Nebula hates getting its feet wet. Mist it regularly if your climate is not naturally humid. Turn the plant every month or so if you are growing it indoors so it stays symmetrical. Keep it warm and sheltered, over 15C if possible or it may go dormant. Check regularly for pests and squish or spray as required. Feed fortnightly during the warmer months with heavily diluted all purpose houseplant feed.
HEIGHT & WIDTH:  60cm H x 50 cm W
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
