Alocasia zebrina - elephant's ear
APPEARANCE : Tropical rainforest foliage plant with very long green arrow-shaped leaves. Long white stems are striped with dark markings like a little zebra.
USES: Indoor feature plant - show it off in your best pot.
PLANTING: At least half a day of good light, but not direct hot sun. The leaves will droop if it's too dark, or if it's dry. It may occasionally drip harmless sap so place it on tile or other surface you can clean.
CARE: Water little and often so the compost is just moist but not soggy. Mist it regularly if your climate is not naturally humid. Turn the plant every month or so if you are growing it indoors so it stays symmetrical.
