It’s easy to grow, drought-tolerant once established, and thrives in full sun with well-drained soil.
A great pick for native gardens, coastal spots, or anywhere you want low-fuss beauty. Just give it a light prune now and then to keep it looking tidy.
Alyogyne huegelii 'Alba' - native hibiscus, white hibiscus
APPEARANCE: Shrubby mounding native plant with large silk white flowers in late spring into summer, and interestingly lobed leaves. Like exotic hibiscus, the flowers are not individually long-lived but are produced in abundance.ORIGIN : Native to WA and SA
USE FOR : Feature planting, flowering borders, cottage gardens, native gardens, sheltered coastal locations, sandy soils.
PLANTING : Plant in well-drained soil in a sunny sheltered position. Mulch and water well until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks.
CARE : Prune hard after flowering to encourage dense bushy growth and more of next year's flowers. Reapply mulch and apply a slow release fertiliser during spring before buds form. Water regularly during dry periods and protect from hard or prolonged frost.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 2 - 2.5m H x 2 - 2.5m W.
