Stunning and dramatic anthurium with long-lasting flowers that appear dipped in the finest liquid dark chocolate; and large heart shaped leaves which emerge chocolate brown, transition to bronze, and mature to deep green. Lots to enjoy for houseplant connoisseurs and beginner gardeners alike!

Anthuriums are slow growing when young, and we propagate from tissue culture - individual plant cells - so availability is seasonal and limited.

DESCRIPTION: Tropical plant with large heart-shaped leaves, emerging dark purple and transitioning to dark copper when young; and heart-shaped glossy burgundy-brown flowers with a central deep purple spathe.
USE IN: Tropical garden settings as a border or for creating depth using layers in under planting. Suited to containers and indoor gardens. Anthuriums, commonly named 'flamingo flowers' are popular used as a cut flower for their unique heart shape and exceptional vase life of three weeks.
PLANTING: Plant in sheltered position, avoid direct sunlight. Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Protect from frost and keep moist during dry periods. Plant away from areas where children and pets play as the leaves contain a poisonous substance. Avoid contact with skin.
CARE: For maximum flowering period provide plenty of bright, filtered light. Protect from frost and keep moist during dry periods. Anthuriums thrive in humid conditions. Apply a slow release fertiliser during spring and a liquid based fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during the warmer months, take care to dilute your solution to half the recommended dose to avoid burn. For indoor plants - wipe leaves gently with a damp cloth if you notice them collecting dust, this will refresh the foliage to its usual glossy finish. Re-pot container plants at the beginning of spring.

YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
