Feathery, fluffy, floaty-light and fabulous in a boggy spot, shady creek bank, damp border in dappled light. Goat's beards love rich moist soil and always appreciate a little extra organic mulch.

The leaves are fine and slender, delicately lacy. This variety of goat's beard is small enough to snuggle up in a mixed bed, or even a planter if your garden soil is too poor and dry.

Aruncus dioicus, Aruncus sylvester 'Kneiffii' - goat's beard, cutleaf goatsbeard

APPEARANCE : Herbaceous perennial with tall spires of fluffy white flowers on straight stems in spring. Foliage is deep green, soft, and in this variety, very slender and elongated. Kneiffii is a smaller, finer, more dainty version of the species.
USE FOR : Shaded borders and mixed beds, creek banks, pond margins, boggy spots. Bee and butterfly attractor.
CLIMATE : Really cold-hardy to Russian winter level. May struggle in FNQ humidity.

PLANTING :  Aruncus love a moist spot with rich nutritious soil, and dappled or full shade. Plant and cover with a good layer of mulch to help regulate soil temperature.
CARE: Once planted, water the soil well. Water and feed weekly or if the soil becomes dry, give a good deep water. Plants will die back in winter and reappear next spring.

MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH :   60-90cm H x 30-60cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
