This elegant Aussie grass makes itself at home across the south and east in poor, dry, rocky woodland soils - so if your soil is less than nutritious it's a welcome addition to the garden.

Foxtail speargrass adds height without bulk. The golden seedheads will feed local birds and bring colour to your autumn landscape.

Austrostipa densiflora - spear grass, foxtail speargrass, bunchgrass

APPEARANCE : Dense native grass with very fine long leaves, fluffy cream flowerheads. Suited to all soil types, fast-growing.
ORIGIN : This grass is found naturally all over eastern and southern Australia.
USE FOR : Revegetation, mass planting, erosion control, bushland gardens. Thrives in poor rocky soil.
PLANTING : Plant in a full sun to partly shaded position, will tolerate a wide range of soils and climates.
CARE: Low maintenance and tolerant of harsh conditions, requires little care once established. Fertilise with a native slow release fertiliser once a year.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1-1.5m x 60cm in flower
