Aussie Green Oasis bar

Above is a closeup of our Aussie green oasis bar display at the 2025 Queensland Garden Show.
You can see the bar area in full here.
There's even a genuine beer tap with drinks ready to go! All were built in-house by our amazing team. We were really happy to see the display enjoyed by lots of visitors resting their feet, taking a selfie, and admiring the plants.

Aussie Green Oasis Bar front
The bar front is a mix of our tubestock plants, chosen for maximum leaf texture and surprise splashes of colour.
Take a look at our tubestock for inspiration - there's lots of choice to make this look your own!
We included:
- peppermint willow myrtle Agonis Pink Flamingo - long ribbony pink and purple leaves
- kangaroo paw Anigozanthos Bush Zest - bright yellow furry paws
- grevillea including Soopa Doopa, just seen in flower top-centre; and below it, lacy grey-green Sea Spray
- Fatsia - big glossy five-pointed leaves
- Helichrysum licorice plant - soft-touch silvery foliage
- Cupressus Lemon Scent lemon cypress - vibrant lime-lemon conifer
Remember to water or mist your new tubestock regularly in a display like this, to keep them looking lush and green!

Shelf Decor
Bunches of dried eucalyptus gum leaves and native wild flowers add a true blue Aussie vibe;
with pops of sunny golden colour provided by billy buttons in vintage bottles.

Succulent Pictures
On the bar top you can spy a picture frame of succulents; we displayed on the sales desk.
Take a look at our separate post from the show, for more details and inspiration on how to create your own succulent planted pictures like this.
Bar Top Plants
Did you spot the plants on the bartop?
A vintage metal cooler pail holds frosty beers and an assortment of our favourite succulents, including
- African cathedral cactus
- sedum donkey tail
- watchchain crassula, and
- graptoveria opalina

The beer mugs are planted with a heady brew of Dichondra Silver Falls - a little too heady as it spills over the lip and down the side!
Silver Falls is a fantastic indoor plant giving you fast-growing trailing silvery stems - beautiful in a hanging basket if you don't have a handy pint glass...

Tabletop Plants
Three rustic wood-frame tables with log seats circle the front of the bar. Each one is planted with three hundred tubestock plants nestled together to form a lush carpet.
Happily, to recreate this look at home you won't need nearly as many plants - unless you want an instant result like us!
Our post How Many Plants You Need will guide you through.
The plants we used were
- low-growing mat rush Lomandra Little Con, for an upright feathery look
- ground-hugging lawn alternative (and customer favourite) Zoysia no mow grass - you can see this in our 2021 stand design too!
- award-winning Tristaniopsis Sprite, a new dwarf form of native water gum exclusive to us.
