Blueberry Pink Icing
Now everyone can grow blueberries in their back yard! Pink Icing tops out at 1.2m around, perfect for patio pots. And with changing leaf colour through the seasons, it earns its place even before those big dark sweet fruits ripen in autumn.

Vaccinium corymbosum 'Pink Icing' - blueberry
APPEARANCE : Dwarf variety with a dense rounded habit, vigorous growth, abundant large dark fruits with good sweet flavour. Tiny pale pink bell flowers spring to early summer, followed by clusters of deep blue berries. Deciduous in cool climates; foliage is pink-peach in spring when new, deep green through summer, and teal green in winter.
USE FOR : Plant as a feature shrub, and enjoy the juicy berries in early summer. Eat fresh from the bush or add to a favourite sweet treat. Good autumn colour and informal hedging. Bred for pot growing.
CLIMATE : Frost hardy and fruits in humidity and heat. Needs 450-500 chill hours below 5C - about 18-21 days total - to set the fruit
PLANTING : Plant in a full sun in free draining soil. For best results dig well composted manure through the soil prior to planting. Plant alongside other blueberries for best fruiting. Will usually fruit on two year old plants.
CARE : Apply a good layer of mulch after planting, this helps to keep the shallow root system cool and moist. Prune mid winter. Treat unwanted garden pests with organic eco-oil.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 0.9-1.2m H x 0.9-1.2m W
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
