APPEARANCE : Large burgundy red bottlebrush shaped flowers give a display of colour in spring and summer, often again in autumn, over this generously-sized shrub.ORIGIN : Native to NSW, QLD, VIC
USE FOR : In native gardens, as feature plant. Flowers are irresistible to nectar-feeding birds and insects. Ideal as a clipped hedge and in massed plantings.
CLIMATE : Will tolerate light frost once established. Cold, heatwave, and drought will reduce flowering.
PLANTING : Very hardy and forgiving in all types of soil and most climates. In the wild often growing in swampy areas or seasonally wet soils. Prefers full sun but will tolerate dappled shade.
CARE : Prune to shape after flowering and feed with a native fertiliser.
MATURE HEIGHT & WIDTH : 3m H x 2m W.
