Great native alternative to Photinia, red leaf colour all year and pops of pink flowers in spring. Makes a tallish hedge unclipped, or will clip down to half a metre if you like your boundaries neat and low.

Callistemon 'Red Alert'™
DESCRIPTION: New Ozbreed variety of Kings Parks Special bottlebrush seedling that has vivid red new growth autumn and spring, and softer dark red-brown leaves the rest of the year. Flowers are cerise pink.USES:In native gardens to attract birds. Ideal as a clipped hedge and in massed plantings.
PLANTING: Very hardy and forgiving in all types of soil. Prefers full sun or light shade. Frost, salt and drought tolerant once established.
CARE: Prune after flowering and feed with a native fertiliser. Will tolerate hard clipping to 0.5m for short hedges.
