Callistemon salignus 'Perth Pink'
APPEARANCE: Hot-pink small bottlebrush shaped flowers cover this native shrub in spring and autumn. Pink new leaf growth gives interest through the rest of the year. Benefits from being pruned to shape while young, and after flowering.USE IN: In native gardens, coastal landscapes to attract nectar feeding birds. For year-round colour, and for tall informal privacy hedges and windbreaks.
LOCATION: Plant in well drained soil in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden. Grows best in well-draining soil with some watering during dry periods. Tolerates drought and waterlogging once established. Not frost-hardy but might come through a light overnight frost.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Can be left unpruned or trim as required to tidy the growth or reduce size. Prune after flowering to encourage new growth and to improve next flowering period.
