Highly fragrant camellia flower - yes there are scented varieties! - with large tissue-paper palest-pink blooms. Sasanqua variety so good for warmer humid climates as well as cooler ones.
Camellia sasanqua 'Exquisite'DESCRIPTION: Tissuey palest-pink highly fragrant flowers with golden stamens in autumn-winter; evergreen leaves, upright dense habit. Sasanqua Camellias have smaller leaves and denser foliage than their cousins the “Japonicas”.
USES: Ideal for screens, hedges, espaliers.
PLANTING: Sunny or partly shaded sheltered position with morning or afternoon sun. Plant in a free-draining lime-free soil rich in organic matter. A potting mix rich with peat moss or humus is ideal added at the time of planting.
CARE: Mulch and water well, prune after flowering and fertilise in Spring.
