Description

Canna 'Tropical Rose'

APPEARANCE : Big bold plants grow to waist height, with lush broad dark leaves and tall straight flower stems in summer. Flowers are orchid-like, ruffled and warm soft pink.
USE FOR : Ideal for sunny borders, feature planting, large containers.
CLIMATE : Frost-free to tropical
PLANTING : Plant in winter/early spring. Cannas will grow in moist or even quite wet soils, and will thrive in dry soils once established with plenty of water in the initial growing stages.Plant bulbs with the narrow end facing upward, cover with a good layer of mulch to help regulate soil temperature. Cannas love frost free sunny spots
CARE : Once planted, water the soil to set the bulb in place. Water and feed weekly or if the soil becomes dry, give a good deep water. Deadhead to encourage new blooms. Once flowering is finished leave plants to die back, it's not the prettiest sight but don't be tempted to trim the yellowing foliage. The nutrients are being drawn back into the bulbs for next year.
