Unique, strange, fun! This popular plant has a character all of its own, with fine 'hairy' strands of evergreen cascading foliage, soft to touch.
Use as a groundcover or feature plant in rockeries and hanging baskets, where it will spread to 1m across.
Cousin It is low maintenance, weed suppressing, drought tolerant - but give it water and watch it grow green and lush.
"Our 'Cousin Its" arrived this morning, beautifully and securely packed, looking extremely healthy ... We do not have an enormous garden but every time we need new plants we will be back to you as our favourite plant nursery."

Casuarina glauca 'Cousin It'
APPEARANCE : Vibrant fine long trailing green foliage, very touch friendly. Forms a cascading mound. In mature plants you may see evidence of its casuarina she-oak pine origins, as tiny chestnut-brown cones appear.USE FOR : Feature plant in rockeries and raised garden beds as the foliage cascades. Suited to container planting.
CLIMATE : Will tolerate a light frost; grows well in our SE QLD humidity.
PLANTING : Plant in well drained soil in a full sun to partly shaded position in the garden. Tolerates dry periods once established, but grows lusher with regular water.
CARE : Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune tips while young to encourage dense growth and fertilise with a slow release fertiliser in spring.
HEIGHT & WIDTH : 15-30 cm H x Up to 1 m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
