Brains...braaaiiiinnnnsss... cockscomb celosia may look like a prop from a horror film (especially in red!) but it's a fair dinkum flower and one that is perfect for Aussie gardeners. It originates in tropical east Africa so it loves our sunshine and the humidity of the coast, and it's easy as from seed. Touch it and you'll feel the soft velvety texture of each flower - not so scary now, is it?
DESCRIPTION: Soft-to-touch, huge, heavily crinkled flowers in vibrant shades, right through the summer months. This is a dwarf mix ideal for pot and planters too. PLANTING: Sow in pots or trays all year round in tropical gardens; Sow in spring elsewhere. Sow on the soil, press in gently, water. CARE: Keep moist and warm through germination and while growing; plenty of mulch will help plants too. Flowers 16 weeks from sowing.
