We don't know why this plant deserves such a rude common name as it's a fantastic shrub for Aussie gardens! It's native to the Caribbean, but it will grow in cooler southern and inland climates in a sheltered garden, especially if given some protection from a wall or dense hedge. The flower colour on this variety is a gorgeous dusky purple, like the last drops of a glass of finest Cabernet.
