Gorgeous flowering annual, due for a fashion revival - satiny open flowers in shades of pink, white, red, often with contrast rims or centres. You may know it as godetia. Very easy to grow in cooler states to flower in spring and autumn.
DESCRIPTION: Also called Godetia. Upright growing bedding plant suited to mass planting, scattered through cottage gardens or as potted colour. Flowers are gently ruffled in bright and pastel shades. Enjoy as a cut flower indoors. PLANTING: Sow seeds Spring-Autumn avoiding extreme heat and cold, check the seed pack for detailed info on planting in your area. Sow seeds into seed raising mix or direct into their final position, scattered or in formal rows, gently press into soil and keep moist. Thin seedlings if they become crowded & replant elsewhere in the garden. Remove spent flowers to keep them flowering longer. Plant in free draining soil in a full sun location for best flowering. Preparing garden beds with well composted manure will give the best results. CARE: Water seedlings regularly until established and continue to provide water especially during dry spells. Stake taller plants if required. Mulch plants to keep the roots cool in summer. For an extra long flowering season, remove spent blooms often and feed with liquid fertiliser
