Clivia collectors can add another beauty to their display with this unusual white-striped variety. Clivias are wonderful plants for growing in shade outside in frost-free gardens, and for indoor growing where they wil flower in quite low light. Lush green leaves all year, like an agapanthus.
Clivia 'White Lipped'DESCRIPTION: Strappy leaf evergreen clumping plant suited to shaded areas of the garden. Flowers late winter and early spring in clusters of pale apricot trumpet-shaped flowers with white markings.
PLANTING: Clivias perform best in filtered light in any reasonable garden soil and will tolerate dry conditions once established. They will grow in dense shade but will not flower as well.
CARE: Prune spent flowers to encourage dense growth habit and continued flowering. Apply less water during the cooler months, this is known to encourage more flowering in spring. Reapply mulch and apply a liquid fertiliser at half the regular strength each spring. Protect from frost, cold conditions and hot afternoon sun. Lift and divide every 3-4 years or when clumps become large.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 50 cm H x 60 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS: These plants are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
