Cyclamen persicum ‘Super Serie Mammoth Red’ - florist cyclamen

APPEARANCE : Rounded compact clumps of heart shaped dark green leaves marked with silver, and pink on the reverse. Upright stems of flowers with long satin upright petals in cooler months. The Mammoth series is bred for larger sturdier plants and larger flowers; Red is a strong classic scarlet.
ORIGIN : Rocky hillsides and shady woods across Greece, Turkey, Middle East, and northern Africa.
USE FOR : Indoor decor, potted colour, patio pots, front of border in the garden. Note : the tuber is poisonous if eaten so keep plant away from pets and small children.
CLIMATE : Protect from frost; temperatures over 5C
PLANTING : Plant so the top of the tuber is showing above the soil surface, as in the tubestock pot. Plant in bright dappled or part shade, in a sheltered location.
CARE : Water regularly but lightly; feed fortnightly during the flowering season. Cyclamen grow from bulbs - tubers - and usually become dormant for part of the year, usually summer, when they are not flowering. Once leaves start to yellow, or all flowering has finished, reduce watering so the plant can dry off and start dormancy.
