Delosperma cooperi - ice plant
APPEARANCE: Low-growing trailing South African succulent that forms a carpet of spreading stems. Very slender fleshy green leaves and small shiny purple-pink daisy flowers cover the plant in full bloom; peak flowering is in summer, and intermittently through the warmer months. Leaf size is much smaller than carpobrotus, and a little fatter than the Jewel Series Delosperma
USE FOR : Rockeries, pots, landscaping, groundcover, xeriscaping. Coastal and outback gardens, rooftop gardens, green living walls.
PLANTING : Hardy and drought tolerant once established. Cold hardy to -20C, reportedly. Does not like wet feet or moist rich soils. Plant in light free-draining soil in sun for maximum colour and compact shape.
CARE: Water lightly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Once established, water only when soil is dry. Keep it in a sunny position for at least part of the day.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 0.1m H x 0.6m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are larger than our usual tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot is 68 mm wide.
