Adenium arabicum 'Double Red Mix' - desert roseDESCRIPTION: Small, slow growing shrub-like succulent with a large trunk-like base called a caudex used to store water. Flowers during spring through summer with double and semi-double blooms deep red in colour. Some flowers may have almost black edging.
USES: Ideal planted in dry garden beds alongside cacti and succulents. Suited to container planting too.
PLANTING: Plant in cacti mix or very free draining soil with some sand and small stones added to avoid root rot.
CARE: Water when the soil becomes dry, and a little more frequently during hotter months, over watering can cause wet feet. Leaves drop during winter when the plant is dormant, this is perfectly normal!. Your plant will be bursting with life again in no time. Feed with liquid fertiliser for best results.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 0.5 - 1 m H x 60 cm W. May grow up to 2 metres with plenty of patience!
YOUR PLANTS: These are tube-stock plants, young healthy plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. NOTE: These plants may come in 'plugs' with the roots enclosed in netting instead of a pot. These can be potted up into bigger pots or into the ground as they are; or you can carefully snip away the net where possible, which can help the roots establish faster.
