Big bold summer-autumn colour,  effortlessly, will be yours when you plant this multi-medal-winning echinacea.

Usually echinacea flower in warm purple or white, but this Cheyenne Spirit selection ranges from toasty orange, hot red, and creamy yellow to cosy pink and peach.

They're native to north american prairies (Cheyenne is the capital of Wyoming, cowboy country) where they bloom in hot sun, and survive snowy winters. Fast growing, frost hardy, sunloving, with bonus nut-brown seedheads for the birds once those petals fall.

Echinacea purpurea 'Cheyenne Spirit'

APPEARANCE : Herbaceous perennial of grassy north American plains. Tall bushy daisy flowers with a prominent central cone, loved by beneficial pollinators such as honeybees and butterflies. This variety is an All-America Selections Award winner, and European FleuroSelect Gold Medal, with a unique range of vibrant colours.
USE FOR : Mixed beds and borders, kitchen gardens to attract pollinators, meadow-style planting. Makes a good cut flower for the home, and an attractive addition to a cottage style garden. Seedheads feed the birds in winter
PLANTING: Plant in full sun with well draining soil. Mulch and water on a regular basis, until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Very cold hardy and drought tolerant once mature.
CARE: For an extra long flowering season, remove early spent blooms and feed the plant monthly with liquid fertiliser. Leave the last flowers in place to become seedheads for birds. Plants flower in the first year, and better when they have been in place a year or two.
HEIGHT & WIDTH:  50-75 cm H depending on colour x 30-50 cm W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
