Eucalyptus (lansdowneana) albopurpurea 'Purple Patch' - flowering gum

APPEARANCE :New compact cultivar of this rare native eucalyptus tree, with vivid purple fluffy flowers in winter-spring. Small mature height and slender crown. Branches are gently weeping, leaves are long, slender, and silver-grey. The species form is known as purple-flowered mallee box or Port Lincoln mallee.
USE FOR : Ornamental garden tree, feature shrub when coppiced, wildlife gardens, for flower arranging and floristry.
PLANTING :  Plant in neutral to alkaline soils in full sun to part shade. Tolerates a wide range of climates including frost, humidity, coastal spray and dry inland, sandy soils and seasonally wet soil.
CARE : Stake and protect from strong wind and frost until the plant is established. Apply mulch and continue to water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks and regularly during extended dry periods.
HEIGHT :  4 - 6m H x 2 - 3m W
