This dwarf native green gum is perfect for privacy screening in a smaller garden. The long fine bright green foliage is openly spaced to block out the sun on hot days, and allow winter light to filter through to shine on the plants below. This tree also does not mind being cut very hard back to create informal hedging.

APPEARANCE :Dwarf form of native gum with long ribbony apple green leaves, a smooth trunk and fluffy white, bird-attracting, flowers in summer and autumn. 'Viridis' means green, and this is one of the brightest-leaved gums. USE FOR : Ornamental garden tree, screening, wildlife gardens, windbreaks, shade tree. Can be hard coppiced to create a bushy informal hedge. PLANTING : Plant in a full sun to part shade position in moist well-draining soil. Prefers clay or sandy soils with a neutral to acid pH. Tolerates frost and coastal conditions once established. CARE : Stake and protect from strong wind and frost until the plant is established. Apply mulch and continue to water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks and regularly during extended dry periods. Feed in spring with a low Phosphorus fertiliser for native plants . HEIGHT : 5 - 10m H x 2 - 3m W YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants with healthy young roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
