Very handsome tropical evergreen shrub with vibrant glowing red under-leaf colour. Makes a lovely hedge or feature shrub in a mixed border. Sap is toxic so wash your hands after pruning.

Excoecaria cochinchinensis - Chinese croton

DESCRIPTION: Tropical evergreen shrub with bronze new growth and glossy green mature leaves, vibrant maroon underneath. One of the enormous and varied Euphorbia family
USE IN: Feature shrub, hedge. Plant at the top of slopes or steps so you can see the leaf undersides.
LOCATION: A full sun to partly shaded position in the garden. Likes it warm and humid.
Plant in a free draining soil rich in organic matter.
CARE: Mulch and water well during the first 12 weeks until the plant is established, prune after flowering to promote new growth.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 2 m H x 2 m W.
YOUR PLANTS: These are tube-stock plants with young healthy roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80 mm x 42 mm wide.
ATTENTION:the sap is toxic and can cause skin and eye itrritation so handle carefully and wash your hands after pruning.
