Huge golden yellow brushes on pinky-white branches cascade from fine evergreen foliage, creating a wide mounding layered shrub of flowers. See the size of flowers on a one-year-old plant in the image gallery.
Give this one enough space tospread out - they can reach up to 8m across in ideal conditions. Plant as a feature to enjoy this sun-loving subtropical grevillea, which is always in demand - no wonder, when it's as beautiful as this.
Grevillea 'Golden Lyre'
APPEARANCE: Long vibrant yellow brushes with chocolate brown bases open from lime green buds, above arching wide-spreading layered branches. Foliage is very fine and feathery in appearance, gold-tinted at the tips when young.USE FOR: Feature planting, informal screening, native gardens.
CLIMATE: Frost sensitive. Subtropical hybrid variety.
PLANTING : Plant in well drained soil in full sun to part shade.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Prune after flowering to encourage dense growth. Feed with a slow release native fertiliser when buds form - grevilleas can be phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
