Red Ripper is a ripper choice for almost any garden except the very smallest. Small enough for suburban gardens, big enough to put on a colourful display - our nursery bushes seem to be always in flower!

Big cherry red blooms decorate this Queensland-bred native shrub year-round, attracting heaps of wildlife to your garden. The local tiny honeyeaters and spinebills love it for nectar and a singing perch.

Note : Our Red Rippers are grafted grevilleas, unlike most of our other varieties. Grafting joins the main plant to another, more robust or adaptable, rootstock. This means it will grow in a wider range of soil types. Read more here

Grevillea 'Red Ripper'

APPEARANCE : Medium-large native shrub, with ferny foliage and large cherry-red flowers through the year. Bred by grevillea expert Richard Tomkin
USE FOR : Feature plant, wildlife garden, year-round colour
CLIMATE : Tolerates light overnight frost once established.
PLANTING : Plant in full sun for maximum flowering, in light free-draining soil.
CARE: Water regularly during the first 8-12 weeks until the plant is established. Prune after flowering to shape if required. A hard prune each 3-4 years will result in a fresh flush of flowers and foliage.  Feed with a slow release native fertiliser when buds form - grevilleas can be phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
HEIGHT & WIDTH: 1.5-2m H x 1-1.5m W.
YOUR PLANTS : These are tubestock plants, healthy young plants with new roots that will establish quickly in your garden. The pot size is 80mm high and 42 mm wide.
You can see an example in the image gallery.
