Grevillea Woolly Bear Hero
A selection of woolly grevillea chosen to raise funds for the Free The Bears charity. Pink flowers from autumn to summer cover this coastal-loving low shrub, which is happy in a wide range of climates and soil types.
Grevillea lanigera 'Woolly Bear Hero'
APPEARANCE : Native goundcover grevillea with cats-claw flowers in shade of pink from autumn to summer, and small grey leaves.
ORIGIN : G lanigera occurs throughout southern NSW and VIC in a range of habitats
USE FOR : Rockeries, coastal gardens, embankments. Ideal size for container gardens. Bird attracting native. Winter colour
CLIMATE: Tolerates dry periods once established. Can withstand moderate frosts and coastal conditions.
PLANTING: Plant in well drained soil, mulch well and water regularly until the plant is established. Prefers a warm, sunny position in the garden and is relatively hardy once established.
CARE: Apply a native plant fertiliser yearly. Prune lightly after flowering to keep plants bushy and healthy. Feed with a slow release native fertiliser when buds form - grevilleas can be phosphorus-sensitive so the P ratio of the fertiliser needs to be under 3%.
